Er, ok... run quickly, jump on things, collect rings, run even more quickly, avoid dying (except you can't die in this version, so that's a big help). If the game runs slowly on your machine, use the Quality option in the game window to reduce the graphics quality.
This is more like a demo game, as it has only one level and there are a few minor "bugs" in it (I didn't write it by the way), but it is still fun if you're a true Sonic the Hedgehog fan like me. For example, it is possible to run off the edges of Sonic's world, but I don't recommend doing that. Also, the Website and Help options don't work, and Help actually causes a potentially annoying pop-up advert window to appear, so it's best not to use them.
